Zuza Karcz
“Give a voice to those who are unrepresented. And I will listen to them.”
Widely known for her work for the LGBTQI+ rights, Zuza Karcz an activist and feminist from Poland is now sharing her experiences with working on another issue she deeply cares about - climate crisis.
“My life mission, I have the impression, is to act for education, implementing civic, anti-discrimination and pro-climate modules. Because in the age of globalisation, such knowledge should be an indispensable element in the education of young people - without it they can really die: being victims of authoritarianism, discrimination against themselves or their colleagues, by the employer, and finally by the climate crisis, in whatever form it would affect their health and life.”
“Therefore, I am asking all people who come into contact with me to keep in mind that I am doing things that improve people's lives in a way deeper than just talking about my experiences as an out-of-body lesbian. Because I am privileged and I have never been directly harassed for my sexual orientation. But I am developing knowledge about what the system can do to help the real victims of homophobia, transphobia, xenophobia, authoritarianism and the climate crisis. And so I have already planned that I will be educated in this direction.
Give a voice to those who are unrepresented. And I will listen to them.”
