Ciara Carrara: Feminist support to Argentina

In this picture taken by the photographer Clara Carrara we observe a woman with a coat hanger drawn on her arm and wearing a green scarf.

It was taken during one of the demonstrations in support to Argentina’s fight for a legal, safe and free abortion, in this case at the "Brandenburger Tor” in Berlin on August 2018. The coat hanger symbolizes the hidden abortion while the green scarf is the right for this service to be legalized.

Clara Carrara was born and grew up in Buenos Aires, Argentina 🇦🇷 where she also studied Cinematography with a specialization in lighting and camera.

Since 2011 she lives in Berlin and has developed her interest and work towards photojournalism focusing on immortalizing demonstrations, which allows her the possibility to tell stories, disclose them and expose problems as well as injustices.

For her the camera is her tool to enable the approximation to other people and contribute to their cause sharing their ideas, fights and quests in order to pluralize them catching this mass movement energy ⚡️ in the moment of struggle.
