A parenthesis on Brexit

“As a Brit, I now feel like I’m being expropriated, and I don’t use this term lightly!”

It was a very emotional moment for me to have my application accepted

My rights are being yanked away from me because of Brexit. That really angers me. Because I do belong here. That is why I decided to secure the rights that I’ve enjoyed for most of my life, with a Belgian passport.

It was a very emotional moment for me to have my application accepted, because I felt this was the confirmation of what I've been feeling all along: that Brussels is my home now.
